Someone who suffers from PTSD may have a smaller hipocampus which is a region in the brain that deals with memory
Treatments:
Talking to a therapist may help because most people keep their feelings bottled up
CBT is a type of counseling that is most effective for people with PTSD
Medication is also a treatment. SSRI is a type of medication used for treating depression but can help with PTSD.
CBT may be treated within 3-6 months. Most people with PTSD have other disorders and the treatment for this could be 1-2 years
